The Functional Capacity Evaluation (FCE) simulates activities onboard, and these involve lifting, crawling, static squat and push, fine motor exercises, as well as measurement of the fitness level via the Chester Step Test. Monitored by licensed physical therapists, crew members are also instructed on proper posture during these activities in order to avoid injury onboard. With just a shirt, a pair of shorts, and a pair of rubber shoes, crew members can be ready to go with this test.
